Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani says he expects his charges to leave their shock exit from the CAF Champions League behind them and put up a response in Thursday’s match-day 17 outstanding First Capital Plus Premier League encounter away to Medeama SC.

The porcupine warriors conceded  an 85th minute goal away to Liberia’s Barrack Young Controllers in Monrovia to record a 2-2 aggregate score line but were booted out of the competition on the away goal rule.

“Now we need to just put away this setback and concentrate on the league and the FA Cup especially our immediate game against Medeama on Thursday. We’ve tried to get the boys backaway from what had happened. They are getting well; I hope by Thursday, they will be very well and recover as professionals then we will be okay to carry on,” Kotoko coach Dramani told footy-Ghana.com in an interview at the Kotoka Airport.

FootyGhana can confirm that Kotoko who zoomed straight into the Western region upon arrival from Liberia on Monday to prepare for Thursday’s promising clash with the Mauves and Yellow at the Tarkwa T&A Park have been hit with injury to midfield duo Issah Yakubu and Larbi Koomson. The duo was released to meet the club’s medical officer after arriving in Ghana on Monday afternoon.

Kotoko however welcome the return to fitness of club captain Michael Akuffo who missed out on both legs of the club’s CAF Champions League tie against Liberia’s BYC due to an injury sustained during last month’s CHAN tournament in South Africa.

Experience goalkeeper Isaac Amoako who recently suffered a fire disaster has joined camp adding to two keepers already in camp; Soulama Abdoulaye and Joseph Addo. It is unknown whether the Burkinabe would be sacrificed following recent bribery allegations levelled against his person. Also joining camp for the Medeama game is attacker Osman Bashiru and centre-back David SmallBoy Korbah.

Kotoko are four points clear at the top of the First Capital Plus Premier League table ahead of rivals Hearts of Oak who have 30 points despite having two outstanding games.
